Tips to maintain a positive class environment

 A classroom is where a group of students at the same level study under one roof. Each of these learners has a unique personality, style, attitude, and way of communication. Therefore, you must maintain a positive class environment to make all the pupils study together without any differences or disputes. Here are a few tips from our teachers at Ideal Education Point (New Choudhary Public School), an RBSE Affiliated School In pratapnagar Jaipur.

Use humor at the right time: This doesn’t mean that you have to tell jokes in the class all the time, but you can do that as a part of what we are about to explain. The main goal is to use humor while teaching at the right time. For example, you can take a topic from History and make it sound laughable. Here are some more tips on adding humor in class.

• You can speak in a funny tone from time to time.
• Play songs in class related to that topic (if your School in Jaipur allows it). That should probably crack your class up and spark interest. 
• You can use props.

Make the students feel safe: The moment you enter the class, two things will happen: your students will respect you or will be scared of you. You probably don’t want the latter, so you need to enter a class with firmness. Of course, you can be firm, but students never like grumpy teachers. So teach with a smile and keep yourself calm as much as possible.  

Spread positivity: The only answer to defeat negativity is positivity. Every student is unique, so there is no failing whatsoever, only learning from mistakes, your positive and inspirational feedback will always motivate the students to enhance, improve, and keep doing better to climb the ladder of success. But to spread positivity in class, you need to have an optimistic mindset. Here are a few things you can apply.

• Most schools have light-colored uniforms for teachers and students, which initiate positivity. However, if your school has no dress code, you can wear light to school.
• Meditate whenever possible.
• Take a deep breath before entering class.

Protect your students: Sometimes, students hurt other students mentally in the name of “I was only joking.” However, jokes at an academic level, especially in junior classes, should have a line that should never be crossed. If you feel something is wrong, take immediate action to resolve it.
